  1. Trinity

Not a bad product although I think it would be more suitable to slightly oilier skin types as its a gel-like texture and dried to a sort of matt like the texture on my skin. I prefer the vit c 23% to this. I’ll give the other vit c products a try, I won’t be repurchasing this.

  2. Maria S

I enjoy using this serum as it absorbs quickly and does brighten the face a bit but it is so mild I can use niacinamide with it . I only gave this 4 stars because although I thankfully don’t notice any bad reactions with this product, I don’t use it every day and I have not been using it long enough to be able to report any lasting effects. Will update in a few weeks/ months time as I usually don’t notice positive effects with skin care products until I have used them for a couple of months at least.

  3. Dlg

Amazing to get a vit c product at this price. Goes on sticky similar to most hyaluronic serums but that feeling disappears after a few mins or moisturiser.

  4. Sammy G

I really like this serum, it isn’t greasy and leaves a matte finish on my skin whilst making it glow!

  5. Deni

I’ve chosen this product as my first experience with vitamin C, have been using this for a month and so far so good. I can definitely see a huge improvement on my skin in combination with a retinol (not using together). I think it’s a good product for a beginners in skincare however there are also better products just more expensive

  6. Sal

Makes the skin look glowing, temporarily. However, makes no difference in the long run. I felt like it’s just make-up, washing your face after the long day will leave your face looking like it was before.

  7. Chynna

This is a repeat order for me and have been using this product for 2 years. It is definitely more cost effective than any other brands that are producing Vitamin C serums for lesser volume. The quality is amazing and the company itself is very sustainable. The product itself, has diminished my dark spots and gave myself a plump and youthful look. I totally recommend this product for anyone who wants a brighter glow!

  8. Kristina

Good product, an effect seen from the first day. It’s quite sticky on the skin, as all products with Vitamin C are, so using it only for night time. My skin is a mixed type, so it works perfectly as its not so strong.

  9. TingTong

The product is a serum which glides nicely on the skin. The product is user-friendly as the potency is slightly lower to allow tolerability. I would recommend.

  10. Rene

This was my first experience with C vitamin products. I wanted to like it a lot, but this serum feels sticky on my skin. Skin feels dry and uncomfortable if I don’t put moisturiser on the top of the serum. I have combination skin and dry feeling isn’t something very common to me. I don’t think I will try this serum again, but I am open to try other products from Ordinary.

Haven’t really noticed anything yet, although it’s just been 2 weeks or so. I’ve tried using this in the morning beneath my sunscreen which is ok, but if I put liquid foundation on top it starts pilling on the skin which makes my morning skincare/makeup routine more time-consuming. I’m eyeing off the oil based vitamin c serum now as that should not cause this issue.

  12. Bethany

Bought this on a whim as I don’t have issues with discolouration, however, this product was more effective at refining skin texture overnight and helping control a spot than the 2% retinoid serum from the same brand. Unexpected! Reach for it a lot. Knocked a star off because it’s so goddamn sticky and balls up like anything (by that I mean when you use moisturiser or makeup on top and you get the little rolled gluey bits in case that sounded ruder than I intended). I don’t expect anything from this budget brand to have perfect texture or performance though, I just expect it to very basically take care of the skin of people with low incomes (was particularly special to me, a skincare nut, when a period of severe illness forced me to live off an income of £5k).

  13. Karen

I’ve used 23% vitamin C, but found it quite harsh on my skin and was only able to use it every 2 to 3 days. This one however, I have been using daily without issues. I am so far pleased with the results, blemishes and dark spots are all lighter and less noticeable. Will definitely buy again.

  14. Sabrina

I purchased this product for my pigmentation and I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks. I have to say that my skin has improved and pigmentation have also been attenuated…I’m using it with other ordinary products…and an excellent quality / price ratio…super

After having done some research into what I needed to introduce to my skincare routine I chose this to use in the morning. After a month, I’ve definitely noticed a difference in the brightening and the general health of my skin. It absorbs quickly so I can get on with the rest of my morning routine quickly. I tried this as an alternative to the Vitamin C suspension 30 in silicone as that irritated me and I found it pilled a lot. This goes on smoothly and feels gentle on the skin. Very happy with the switch!

I wish people would stop bashing this specific product for “rolling up”. There are multiple forums, videos and articles about how to stop “piling” (yes people, the correct name for what is happening.) It is far less to do with the product itself and more to do with the amount you are using or the products you are using it with (i.e if you use something silicone heavy or at all with it – this can cause piling). Furthermore, the product is not intended to be used as the last step (i.e moisturiser should be applied on top) which is why it is sticky to the touch. Usually, the ingredients that prevent things being sticky are less beneficial to the skin and just add cost to the item. The ordinary do not use ingredients that they do not need to use. This product is amazing for skin brightening, perfecting skin texture and tone.

  17. Sisabe

I have been using this product for a few months now… after listening to some advise on the internet I started using in the AM and the PM under the eye area …this product has helped with the bags under the eyes, they look less puffy. SO happy with the results.

  18. El

I’m oily and acne prone. When I started using it, my skin was irritated and I’m pretty sure I can’t handle ascorbic acid well. I think mature skin types will do better with it.

  19. Kate

It really does ball up in small bits if you happen to touch your face after applying. The key is to apply a really tiny amount and spread it quickly. Not a case if you want to use a moisturizer or foundation on top. I didn’t notice any great effect but it doesn’t do any harm either.

  20. Skin X Care

Ever since religiously using this in my routine, my skin is definitely brightening up. I use this after the glycolic acid 7%, noticing a nice change in my skin. Will repurchase

  21. Cha

The product is great. Looks my skin better.
